Cynthia is a small, tan and white cat who was born and grew up in the alleys of Hamburg, Germany. She discovered her ability to speak quite by accident when she had her first (unpleasant) encounter with humans. A group of teenage boys had decided it would be fun to harass and torture the local stray cats, and she was one of their unfortunate targets. After duct-taping her to a telephone pole, singeing her fur with lighters and throwing water on her, Cynthia had found her yowls turning into a coherent word - HELP! Her torturers had immediately become frightened, and had run off, leaving her stranded. Not too much later, an older woman carefully cut the tape and brought her down from the pole. Scared, Cynthia had run off as soon as her feet touched the ground. After that, she practiced her speech in private, and listened carefully to the humans nearby, picking up on whatever she could. She traveled through the city never quite knowing exactly what her purpose was, only that she was looking for a particular person. The day she followed Erika home from school was the day her memories were restored, and her purpose clear.

History: In the time of the Silver Millenium, Cynthia was a Guardian-Cat-In-Training under the tutelage of Luna and Artemis. She had been chosen to be the protector and advisor for the two refugee princesses and their friend, Karin, Erika and Trina. Her training had been extensive, and included designing a communication setup, receiving specific talismans to be given to the girls at the appropriate times, and drilling them thoroughly in their physical training. She was almost ready to be awarded the status of "Guardian" when the Dark Kingdom attacked, destroying everyone and everything she had ever known. She had been one of the thousands killed immediately, never having been awarded her title, but was called to earth when Queen Serenity sent the Moon Princess and her court to be reborn.
